Yoga Nidra, yogic sleep or conscious sleep, is a deeply restful practice that can, with regular practice, also result in greater clarity of consciousness.
To quote Tracee Stanley from her book “Radiant Rest“, Yoga nidra can be understood as a technique, a state of consciousness, and a Goddess. It is expansive, supportive, and nurturing, a powerful practice for anyone…. If there is one thing I know it’s that this is the practice we all deserve.”
Class will begin with gentle movement, followed by simple pranayama and guided relaxation techniques in savasana (lying on the back). Deep relaxation and restoration will be the goal. My instruction in this practice originates with the Himalayan tradition as carried on by the Himalayan Institute and taught to me by Khushi Malhotra.
